Julie is proud to be the coordinator and a team member of the Lakeland Cleft Team, which has been providing advanced, multi-disciplinary care for 35 years right here in Lakeland.  Cleft lip and cleft palate are among some of the most common birth defects found in children. Most children can have surgery to repair a cleft lip or cleft palate within their first year of life.  The Team goal is to help children look and function as normally as possible and feel good about themselves as they grow.  The Team offers complete evaluation, treatment and support services to children with facial clefts and certain disorders such as, cleft lip, cleft palate, velopharyngeal disfunction, Treacher-Collins syndrome, Pierre Robin sequence, and Microtia.  The team is comprised of the following members:
